Depression: Elektrokrampft­herapie sprengt „Hyperkonnektivität“ im Gehirn

Aberdeen – Die Elektrokrampftherapie, die wohl am meisten umstrittene, gleichzeitig aber eine sehr wirksame Therapie der Depression, vermindert die „Hyperkonnektivität“ in Hirnregionen, die mit der affektiven Störung in Verbindung gebracht wird. Dies berichten Hirnforscher aus Schottland in den Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS 2012; doi: 10.1073/pnas.1117206109).
